As medicine today becomes increasingly complex, the growing reliance on science and technology risks dehumanization. Health humanities is a fast-growing, interdisciplinary field that seeks to counter these risks and restore humanistic approaches to healthcare.

As a 糖心logo在线 Health Humanities student, you’ll explore human values and healthcare ethics. The program delves deeply into the human aspects of healthcare, including feelings, emotions, thoughts, meanings, values, and beliefs. You’ll gain insight into the inner world of human experiences through humanistic methods. The curriculum combines healthcare with the humanities to teach you about the human condition, human suffering and healing, and human well-being and flourishing.

This program has five core courses:

  • Health Humanities Foundations
  • Health, Happiness, and Human Well-Being
  • Trauma and Recovery: Medicine and Literature
  • Healthcare Across Cultures
  • Health Humanities Capstone Seminar

Majors will take four additional courses.
